Hello students, parents and community members!
Welcome to the 2018-2019 academic school year!
My name is Vanessa Loke and I am an instructional aide here at KLA. This will be my fourth year working alongside a wonderful and inspiring group of educators. I not only work at KLA, but I also attended KLA as a student before it became a charter school back in 2005. During this time, I was one of Mrs. Sartain’s students when she was an English Language Arts teacher. As a cougar alumni, my goal is to help students discover a passion for learning as well as develop a growth mindset in order for them to become leaders in our diverse community.
KLA has given me the opportunity to experience both sides of the education system as a student, and now as an educator. In addition to this experience, I also have my BA in Psychology with a concentration in Criminal Justice, which I received at Argosy University-San Diego. Lastly, my experience growing up and attending inner city schools in the area (Audubon Elementary, Keiller Middle School, and Morse Senior High School) has allowed me to be mindful of the students, their personal growth and acknowledge their experiences within the community. With this, I am able to understand my students and their environment in which they come from.
As an Instructional Aide at KLA, I focus on developing my professional growth in order to implement modifications and accommodations for my students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504’s and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). The greatest thing to experience at KLA is to see my students grow as individuals throughout their years here.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me anytime via email email@example.com.
I look forward to working with each and every one of you!
