Welcome Back Letter!

Welcome back KLA Students & Parents!

Dear KLA Families,

Welcome back to another exciting school year at KLA. My name is Rexie Loke-Agagas, (Ms. L for short) and I cannot wait to kickstart this 2018-2019 school year with a bang! This is my first year at KLA, and  while most of you may not know who I am, I will be one of the new Instructional Aides for your child’s Mathematics and Science courses. Though I am still new to KLA, I have received such a warm welcome from the current KLA staff, and am looking forward to working with each and every one of you to provide the necessary tools and support to guide your child to lifelong success for their future. It is one of my goals to help facilitate and accommodate your child's needs in the critical subject matter put forth in their path to challenge and strengthen their skills where is needed. Another hope I have this year is that each student I get to work with, whether it be individual or group-oriented, has the determination to work hard and strive to success. Yes, hardwork is a key player, but every step of the way, myself and the KLA staff will put 110% in all our best efforts to make sure your child receives a quality education.

Now most of you may be wondering a little more about myself, which brings me to my next goal. I am a San Diego native, born and raised, fused with Filipino, Guamanian, and Caucasian. I attended St. Rita’s Catholic School for most of my primary schooling until Grade 4. Eventually my parents made a difficult yet rewarding decision of transferring me to a public institution due to such high costs of private schooling. Although I was still at primary age, I could not be more thankful for the transition, because of all of yet I was about to discover. I completed the rest of my primary and secondary years at Mary McCleod Bethune K-8, then eventually promoted and off to Samuel F.B. Morse High School. With all the education I have received throughout my young adulthood, I could not be evermore thankful enough to be exposed to such inspiring teachers that opened me up to a diverse and complex world. My hope is that each student will grow and find themselves along the way, through various cultural similarities and differences, hardwork and dedication, to achieve one common goal, college-level studies. I am currently enrolled at Cuyamaca College, and although I have encountered multiple obstacles and barriers along the way, I am self-driven and determined to keep working towards what I started. A big thanks goes to Ms. Sartain and you as parents, to help not only your children but myself, grow as a team! I look forward to meeting and communicating with each of you and your children throughout the school year. Let’s Do This KLA Cougars!

Kind Regards,

Ms. Rexie Loke-Agagas
