Hello and welcome! My name is Elizabeth Henkels and I will be the Education Specialist for Kindergarten – 5th grade. This will be my seventh year at KLA, in that time I have worked with both the primary and secondary students. I am excited to be back for another fantastic school year. I look forward to working with you and your child to reach their academic goals and become outstanding KLA leaders.

Growing up, I knew that I always wanted to be a teacher and have had a love of watching children learn new things. I followed this dream and received my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies as well three teaching credentials at California State University, San Marcos. I then continued my education and in 2016, I completed my Masters degree at Point Loma Nazarene University in Special Education. By bringing my enthusiasm for teaching and the vision of KLA I know that with your help we can make great strides in your child’s education. My goal this year is to make all students successful in achieving to their fullest potential both academically and socially.

I will be working alongside your child’s general education teachers and support staff to provide individual supports to help your child flourish and reach their goals. This year, we will continue to build on our strong primary program with new resources, curriculum, and enrichment opportunities to educate the whole child.

At KLA we are constantly striving to show how we are leaders within our school and community. We are leaders everyday in ways big and small and it is important to develop the skills and mindset of leadership in all children. By following the Character Counts Pillars, each student has the opportunity to become their best selves as well as a contributing member of our school community.

Here at KLA we know that each child is capable of reaching their goals with hard work, dedication, and support. I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year. Please contact me with any question or concerns that may arise.

Thank you and I look forward to a great 2018-2019 school year!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Henkels
