Dear KLA Sixth Grade Scientists-
Welcome to sixth grade! This is a big year for all of us as we begin the transition to junior high with all of its friendships, dances and discovery. This year I am very excited to be teaching 6th Grade Science and Journalism
The thing about science that is so exciting is that it is all around us and I look forward to exploring that with you as we study engineering (maybe we can design the new soccer stadium), energy, weather patterns, and the human body. By the end of the year I predict we will be awe-struck and inspired by all the science around us!
This is my first year teaching journalism and I can’t wait to work with our KLA journalists to find and report on all of the amazing stories about the activities and people that make KLA great. We are going to be launching a news show very soon…watch this space!
I was born and raised in San Diego, but was lucky enough to travel around the U.S. and Europe pretty extensively. I really love to see new places and learn from new people. A trip to Namibia this year is really an exciting time for me and I am looking forward to sharing this part of the work with the students.
In addition to Science I know the Sixth Grade team is working on great things like FIELD DAYS and of course CAMP, helping to make this first year of secondary school a great one!
