Welcome Back KLA Families,
Keiller Leadership Academy will open it’s “Gates of Wisdom” on Monday, August 29th kicking off another great year of learning and service for the students in our KLA community. I look forward to welcoming all new and returning families.
Please refer to the enclosed handouts highlighting the key points of our past Parent Orientation meetings:
- The 2016-17 school calendar and the daily bell schedule
- KLA Uniform Policy (this will be enforced the first day of school)
- School Supply List
- KLA Rules & Expectations and Behavior Intervention Plan (to be distributed the day of Orientation)
- KLA Health and Wellness Policy (to be distributed the day of Orientation)
- Introduction to KLA’s Mindfulness/Restorative Practice (to be distributed the day of Orientation)
**Returning families should have completed and returned their Welcome Back Packets. If you have not done so, please contact Eva Contreras.
Here is some important information to help you prepare for the first day of school.
- The Gates of Wisdom will open daily at 7:05 am.
- The school day begins at 7:30 a.m. sharp and ends at 2:50p.m.
- The first bell rings at 7:25 a.m.
- Students are expected to be in uniform and prepared to learn with all required supplies.
For the first two weeks:
- 6th graders wear burgundy polo shirts and khakis
- 7th graders wear navy blue polo shirts and khakis
- 8th graders wear black polo shirts and khakis
*KLA will be selling ALL uniform polo shirts and khakis on site
